Medical Waste Containers-Class A Haz Driver
About The Position
Daniels Health is seeking a CDL Hazmat Class A Driver to join their team in Fresno, CA. This is a full-time position (40–45 hours per week). The role involves driving over the road for 10-14 days at a time, safely collecting, delivering, and storing medical waste containers at customer locations. The driver will also be responsible for providing strong customer service, operating vehicles safely (including straight trucks and tractor trailers up to 53 feet), completing deliveries on schedule, and complying with DOT regulations. Drivers will sleep in a sleeper tractor and receive a meal per diem.
Requirements
- CDL Haz Class A license with a CLEAN driving record and VALID medical card required!
- Required to run out of state routes
- Passing our 7 Year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
- Experience operating vehicles in a safe manner (straight trucks and tractor trailers as large as 26 and 53 feet long)
- Heavy lifting
Nice To Haves
- Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
- Six months of driving experience with tractor trailers and/or straight trucks
- Customer service skills
- A flexible, can-do attitude with a strong customer focus
- Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections
- Confident in a road check level 1 through level 3
- On time delivery practices!
Responsibilities
- Driving over the road - 10-14 days
- Safely collecting, delivering and storing our medical waste containers at customer locations
- Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships
- Drop and hook (minimal live unload)
- Operating vehicles in a safe manner (straight trucks and tractor trailers as large as 26 and 53 feet long)
- Completing deliveries to time schedule, and clearly communicating changes or challenges as they arise
- Loading and unloading
- Prioritizing and organizing your truck per schedule and needs
- Managing a route per leaderships direction | delivering timely, efficient and effective service
- Sleeping in a sleeper tractor and getting $35 a meal per day
- Complying with DOT regulations, logging hours and roadside inspections
