About The Position

Roberts Oxygen is seeking a dedicated CDL Driver for local route delivery in Richmond, Virginia. The driver provides safe, timely, and accurate deliveries of industrial, medical, and specialty gases and equipment, builds relationships with customers, and works with internal production teams. The role involves operating a company truck, following computer-generated routes, handling delivery transactions and compliance paperwork with a handheld computer, and loading and organizing cylinders and other goods. Drivers may need to cover after-hours, weekend, holiday, and on-call work as business requires.

Requirements

• Current Class A or Class B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, or willingness to obtain the endorsements.
• Reliable and experienced driver with an excellent driving record.
• Ability to lift 100 pounds.
• High school education or equivalent.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings if selected.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate safety, accuracy, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company trucks and equipment.
• Represent the company and build customer relationships through appropriate, professional interactions.
• Read maps and select suitable routes to delivery locations while following computer-generated route and sequence plans.
• Use handheld computers for customer transaction paperwork and compliance needs.
• Handle, maneuver, load, and organize high-pressure and cryogenic cylinders and palletized hard goods on trucks and trailers.
• Follow company policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
• Cover after-hours, weekend, holiday, and on-call work as business requires.
