About The Position

The Supply Technician performs limited aspects of technical supply management work, including inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization related to depot, local, or other supply activities. This role is responsible for inventory management of decentralized and decontrolled items, including supplies and equipment, and material coordination for special programs, maintenance, or production shops. The position also involves cataloging supply channels for a particular agency or field establishment, working within established supply regulations, policies, and procedures. The Supply Technician will interact with operating officials regarding program needs and may contact commercial firms for item information or government agencies regarding property utilization.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of material/supply functions, either in the military services or in commercial applications.
  • Knowledgeable of governing supply systems/programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals or other established guidelines.
  • Analytical ability to define problems, collect necessary data, establish facts, and to take recommended action based upon applicable established guidelines.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust U.S. Government Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • High school degree or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of warehousing duties requiring an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.
  • Verifies materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
  • Routes materials to prescribed storage locations.
  • Stores, stacks, or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
  • Rearranges and takes inventory of stored materials.
  • Examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage; removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.
  • May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
  • Performs miscellaneous quality assurance duties including inspections, inventory process checks, inspecting and examining materials, and article inspections.
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
