About The Position

The CDL Driver - Rear Load safely operates a commercial motor vehicle and provides prompt, complete collection services. The role serves allocated routes that include roads, residential neighborhoods, and alleys, and requires vehicle inspections, safe operation, customer and coworker communication, vehicle-status monitoring, and accurate reporting. Drivers must follow applicable safety regulations and procedures and meet departmental productivity standards. The employer is a drug-free workplace; substance-abuse testing is required during onboarding and randomly during continued employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Class B commercial driver’s license.
• Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as necessary.
• Meet all qualifications defined under Department of Transportation regulations.
• Clearinghouse profile required.

Nice To Haves

• Garbage or recycling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre- and post-operation commercial vehicle checks in line with FCC regulations, including checks of tire pressure, fluid levels, safety devices, gauges, and other components.
• Safely operate commercial vehicles on allocated routes, including roads, residential neighborhoods, and alleys.
• Operate manual and/or automated controls and joystick equipment in compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
• Communicate courteously with coworkers, dispatchers, and customers to ensure services are timely and professional.
• Monitor vehicle status to maintain operational readiness and reduce downtime.
• Complete required paperwork and reports accurately.
• Meet departmental productivity standards so clients are serviced in a timely and effective manner.
• Follow and enforce all safety regulations and procedures.
