About The Position
The driver safely operates a commercial motor vehicle and provides prompt, complete collection services. The role includes performing pre- and post-operation vehicle checks, safely operating assigned routes, using manual and/or automated controls and joystick equipment, communicating courteously with co-workers, dispatchers, and customers, monitoring vehicle readiness, completing paperwork accurately, meeting productivity standards, and following safety procedures. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Class B commercial driver's license.
- Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as necessary.
- Must meet all qualifications defined under Department of Transportation regulations.
- Clearinghouse profile required.
- Substance abuse testing is required during initial onboarding and through random testing for continued employment.
Nice To Haves
- Garbage or recycling experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Complete pre- and post-operation checks of commercial vehicles in line with FCC regulations, including checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety devices, gauges, and other components.
- Safely operate commercial vehicles on allocated routes, including roads, residential neighborhoods, and alleys.
- Use manual and/or automated controls and joystick equipment in compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Engage courteously with co-workers, dispatchers, and customers to ensure services are delivered promptly and professionally.
- Continuously monitor vehicle status to maintain operational readiness and reduce downtime.
- Accurately complete necessary paperwork and other reports.
- Maintain departmental productivity standards so clients are serviced in a timely and effective manner.
- Follow and enforce all safety regulations and procedures.
