About The Position

The driver is responsible for safely operating a commercial motor vehicle and providing prompt, complete collection services. The role includes performing vehicle inspections, operating safely on assigned routes, using manual and/or automated controls and joystick equipment, communicating courteously with coworkers, dispatchers, and customers, monitoring vehicle readiness, completing paperwork, meeting productivity standards, and following safety procedures. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Class B commercial driver’s license.
• Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as necessary.
• Must meet all qualifications defined under Department of Transportation regulations.
• Clearinghouse profile required.
• Must comply with substance abuse testing requirements during initial onboarding and random testing for continued employment.

Nice To Haves

• Garbage or recycling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre- and post-operation commercial vehicle checks in line with FCC regulations, verifying tire pressure, fluid levels, safety devices, gauges, and other components.
• Safely operate commercial vehicles on allocated routes, including roads, residential neighborhoods, and alleys.
• Operate manual and/or automated controls and joystick equipment in compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
• Engage courteously with coworkers, dispatchers, and customers to ensure timely, professional service.
• Monitor vehicle status to maintain operational readiness and reduce downtime.
• Complete required paperwork and reports accurately.
• Maintain departmental productivity standards so clients are serviced in a timely and effective manner.
• Follow and enforce all safety regulations and procedures.
