About The Position

The Delivery Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating the company’s truck, which typically has a weight capacity of 30,000–55,000 pounds GVW. Duties include completing pre-trip reports (DVIRs), ensuring materials are properly loaded and secured, delivering materials to customer locations, and processing customer delivery paperwork. The position requires travel and service to all regional distribution centers. It is full-time and may require overtime as business needs dictate.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of truck driving experience with a proven safe-driving record.
CDL (Class A or B).
Proficiency driving manual-transmission trucks.
Ability to operate a gate lift.
Proficiency operating an electric pallet jack.
Experience handling commercial and residential deliveries.
Ability to service all regional distribution centers.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to travel.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
At least 5 years of forklift experience.
At least 5 years of truck driving experience with a proven safe-driving record.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a heavy-load truck.
Ensure all material is properly secured at the beginning of the shift and continuously monitor it after each delivery.
Complete and return all customer supporting paperwork at the end of each shift.
Collect, document, and properly secure money received, ensuring it aligns with customer paperwork.
Report issues or incidents related to material damage or customer matters to dispatch.
Perform daily pre- and post-trip truck inspections (DVIR).
Seek advice and guidance from a supervisor on non-routine or problem areas.
Perform and document inspections to keep the truck and equipment in good condition.
