About The Position

Buckley Powder is seeking hard-working, safety-focused, full-time Class A CDL Hazmat Drivers—or Driver Trainees with a clean MVR—to join our team. As a CDL Bulk Truck Operator, you will handle packaged explosive products, load and drive bulk trucks, and operate pumping units on job sites. You will also assist blasters with loading and stemming blast holes, and perform routine truck maintenance and keep units clean. This is a hands-on, outdoor role requiring physical activity in all weather conditions, including lifting 50+ lbs, bending, squatting, and working closely with a blasting crew. With time and experience, there are strong opportunities for career advancement.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements (Preferred, but will train the right candidate; must be able to obtain CDL + Hazmat within 6 months of hire)
  • Must meet all State and Federal explosive regulations and qualify as an ATF explosive possessor
  • Ability to pass a drug test, background check, and maintain a clean MVR
  • Reliable, customer-oriented, and safety-focused
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, and company procedures
  • Able to lift 50 lbs regularly while loading trucks

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year heavy equipment and/or CDL experience
  • 1 year commercial driving
  • Any MSHA training
  • Type 1 and/or blasting license
  • Hazmat and Tanker endorsements

Responsibilities

  • Handle packaged explosive products
  • Load and drive bulk trucks
  • Operate pumping units on job sites
  • Assist blasters with loading and stemming blast holes
  • Perform routine truck maintenance and keep units clean
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations
  • Safely operate assigned equipment
  • Maintain vehicles: refuel, wash, and perform basic upkeep
  • Load/unload trucks and maintain accurate inventory
  • Work with a crew on customer job sites
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, incidents, or violations immediately
