About The Position

This role is for recent CDL school graduates and eligible experienced drivers hauling central regional freight through Texas and neighboring states. New drivers receive 4 to 6 weeks of on-the-road mentor training at $650 per week, then begin earning full driver pay upon completing training. Solo drivers are guaranteed at least $1,000 per week for their first three months. After that, average weekly gross earnings are stated as $1,100 to $1,400, with typical weekly mileage of 1,700 to 2,000 miles. Pay also includes $15 per stop and bonus pay for miles, fuel, and safety. Routes are often routed through the driver’s home, with home time at least every two weeks. Dispatches may be during the day or night, and some holidays may be worked depending on the customer. Riders and pets are permitted after training.

Requirements

Valid Class A CDL.
At least 21 years old.
For new graduates, at least 120 hours of training from an accredited CDL school; no driving experience is required.
Experienced drivers must have 6 months of OTR experience in the last 12 months or 12 or more months in the past 5 years.
No more than 2 moving violations in 2 years.
No major preventable accidents in 5 years.
No DUI/DWI in the past 5 to 10 years.
Hair and urine drug testing.

Responsibilities

Haul central regional freight through Texas and neighboring states.
Complete 4 to 6 weeks of on-the-road training with a mentor if a recent CDL school graduate.
Drive solo after training and meet route and mileage expectations.
Make freight stops and follow applicable fuel and safety practices.
