About The Position

NIS Express is seeking motivated individuals in Slidell, LA, to start a full-time career as a CDL-A Truck Driver. This role offers a paid training program for new drivers with no prior road experience required, as long as they possess a CDL and a drive to succeed. The training program lasts 3 to 5 weeks with a dedicated trainer, and drivers earn a paycheck throughout this period. The freight is no-touch dry van, with approximately 70% drop and hook. Trucks are late model Freightliner or Kenworth (2024-2025) and include an APU. The territory covers regional routes east of I-35, with weekly pay ranging from $1,200 to $1,500, paid via direct deposit. Drivers can expect to be home every week or every other week.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• 21 years of age or older
• 120 or more hours completed at an accredited CDL school
• Clean driving record
• Must pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class A tractor-trailer in full compliance with DOT regulations.
• Handle dry van freight that is no-touch, with approximately 70% drop and hook.
• Maintain on-time delivery performance.
• Complete accurate ELD logs, DVIRs, and trip documentation daily.
• Inspect your vehicle before and after every run.
• Keep communication with dispatch and customers professional at all times.
• Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer on real routes.
• Adhere to electronic logging and hours-of-service rules.
• Conduct proper pre and post-trip inspections.
• Follow dispatch communication and company procedures.
