About The Position

DSL Express and partners are hiring CDL-A Truck Drivers for Over-The-Road (OTR) solo and team positions, operating a modernized fleet. We are seeking experienced company drivers with at least 2 years of experience, a good Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), and a satisfactory PSP score. Positions are available immediately. We operate in a strong market with solid nationwide OTR routes. Drivers can reside anywhere, as we offer flexibility in location. The pay is respectable, with a starting point of $104,000 per year for full-time drivers, with potential for higher earnings based on performance. We offer a choice between percentage-based pay (30% Line Haul + Bonuses, popular for solos) or mileage pay (up to 60 cents for automatics, up to 65 cents for manuals). The top end for percentage pay can reach $145,000 annually. We do not have forced dispatch. The average weekly pay for solos ranges from $1,900 to $2,400, with potential peaks of $2,700+ within legal hours. Pay is performance-based, and drivers can switch between percentage and mileage pay at any time. Seasonal pay variations are typical, with Q1 being slower, Q2 and Q4 being peak seasons, and Q3 being mediocre. In 2025, 87% of drivers opted for percentage pay. Top performers earned around $145,000, with most top runners in the $125,000 range, and average drivers making approximately $115,000. All full-time drivers in 2025 earned no less than $104,000. For percentage-based solo drivers, pay is up to 30% line haul plus bonuses, with average weekly earnings between $1,900-$2,100 in the off-season and $2,100-$2,400 in the peak season. Mileage on percentage pay is intentionally reduced to optimize profitability and safety, typically ranging from 2,000 to 3,000 miles per week. For those preferring mileage pay, rates are up to 60 cents per mile (65 cents for manuals), with average weekly gross income between $1,600 and $2,400. Team drivers can earn up to 75 cents per mile plus bonuses, with average weekly gross income per driver between $2,000 and $2,600. We emphasize a strong work ethic, seeking motivated, safe, and reliable drivers. We are not a mega-carrier, offering personalized dispatch and a supportive environment. We have been in business for 25 years, with 24-hour dispatch, mechanic shops at Chicago and Vegas depots, and a modern fleet including automatics and manuals. We handle dedicated freight and utilize our brokerage and partner companies for additional opportunities. Driver amenities include a full kitchen, laundry facilities, and a lounge at the Chicago location. Requirements

Class A CDL required.
Minimum of 2 years of CDL driving experience.
Clean MVR and reasonable PSP report.
Valid CDL Class A without pending suspensions.
Ability to work with modern ELD systems.
Must pass a drug test (no exceptions).
Must have a valid medical card.
Stable work history and good references.
No more than 3 moving violations and/or accidents in the last 3 years.
No failed or refused drug or alcohol test in the last 4 years.
No DWI's, DUI's, and BAC's in the last 4 years.
No reckless driving convictions in the last 3 years.
No license suspension for points or unpaid tickets in the last 3 years.
No more than 2 moving violations during the last year.
Provide no less than 3 years of work history; non-driving work history for the past 3 years will also be verified.
Previous employers and references will be checked and must be verifiable.
