About The Position

Drive a dedicated food-product reefer and dry-van fleet based in Lathrop, California, covering California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Utah. Drivers average 2,800 to 3,000 miles per week and are home every two weeks. About 40% of loads are drop-and-hook; other freight involves live loads, live unloads, and preloads. Drivers may encounter mountain passes and winter weather on Oregon and Utah runs, as well as delays during live unloads. Starting pay is $0.60 per mile, increasing to $0.61 at month 7 and $0.62 at month 13, then by one cent annually up to $0.70 per mile. Additional pay includes $10 per extra stop and $25 for loads under 50 miles. Pay is issued weekly by direct deposit. The posting states that drivers average $1,500 per week and can reach $1,800 in a full-mileage week. Recent graduates of a CDL-A school program of at least 120 hours are welcome. New graduates receive 3 to 5 weeks of paid training with a mentor, totaling 200 to 250 hours, before joining the Lathrop fleet. Most holidays can be spent at home, though drivers may choose to work through a holiday when freight is available.
