CDL A Owner Operator
About The Position
NFI is seeking independent Owner Operators to partner with the company and run under NFI authority. Drivers use their own truck and operate as independent business owners while accessing NFI freight and resources. The work involves year-round intermodal freight on local and regional routes to and from Chicago-area ports and rail yards. Drivers must be able to park within the Chicago area. The posting lists average weekly settlements of $3,500–$4,000 for five days or $5,000–$6,000 for six days. Partnered drivers may receive paid port standby pay when applicable and can access NFI’s privately owned, self-maintained chassis and trailer pool, fuel discounts at major truck stops, on-site tractor parking, and insurance programs through TrueNorth.
Requirements
- At least one year of verifiable tractor-trailer and port experience.
- A Class A license.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
