This role is for a CDL-A driver transitioning from box-trailer work to flatbed driving. The company provides a paid 2- to 3-week flatbed training program combining classroom instruction and hands-on practice with securement, tarping, chains, and binders on loads such as steel, pipe, and building materials. An additional week with a road trainer is available if needed. After training, drivers operate solo in an assigned truck. Drivers are paid $800 per week during training and a minimum of $800 per week for their first four weeks solo. Thereafter, pay is 26% of the load, increasing to 27% after 12 weeks. Experienced flatbed drivers average $1,400 to $1,600 per week. The role also includes a $300 weekly non-taxed per diem, $40 per tarped load, and detention pay of $16 per hour after two hours. Pay is issued every Friday by direct deposit. Drivers are home every weekend for a 34-hour reset and most runs are regional within five states. Equipment is a driver-assigned Cascadia or T680 automatic, three years old or newer.
