About The Position
American Driver offers a direct path to a stable driving career for recent CDL school graduates. Our structured, paid training program pairs you with an experienced mentor on actual regional routes, providing real-world experience on the road with a guaranteed weekly paycheck. The training phase lasts 4-6 weeks, after which drivers transition to solo driving with a clear pay structure and growth opportunities. The company utilizes a late-model, fully maintained fleet that is 100% DOT-compliant.
Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
- Minimum 120 hours of training completed at an accredited CDL school.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Clean driving record (MVR) and solid safety history.
- Ability to pass a standard DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Gain real-world experience on regional routes with a mentor.
- Master hands-on Class A tractor-trailer operations in regional terrain.
- Learn and utilize ELD systems and strict Hours-of-Service (HOS) compliance.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR).
- Understand standard dispatch communication and corporate logging procedures.
- Maintain accurate logs and professional communication with dispatch.
- Operate with consistent regional dry van freight.
