About The Position

Big Wheels, a company of Universal Logistics, provides transportation solutions for local and regional lanes, serving customers in the Metro-Detroit area. The company operates day cab and sleeper tractors with 53-foot dry vans. The role transports freight to and from customer locations. Drivers work Monday through Friday, with potential weekend work, and are home daily. Workweeks are 50–60 hours. Both first- and second-shift schedules are available. Pay is per move, with flat-rate or mileage pay. Applicants must complete the Intelli-App in Tenstreet to be considered.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Class A CDL.
• Six months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last year.
• Clean driving record with a proven safe-driving history.
• No DUI/OWI in the last five years.
• No more than two moving violations in the last three years.
• No more than two preventable accidents in the last three years.
• Strong time-management and communication skills.
• Complete the Intelli-App in Tenstreet to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport freight to and from customer locations.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer.
• Follow DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Secure and handle freight properly; loading or unloading may be required depending on the employer.
• Maintain accurate electronic or paper logs, delivery records, and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
• Promptly report mechanical issues or safety concerns.
• Adhere to schedules while practicing safe driving habits.
