About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting students in meeting their College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) requirements. This includes coordinating various CCMR exams such as TSIA 2 (Accuplacer), ACT, SAT, CTE certification exams, and ASVAB. The role involves tracking student progress towards CCMR completion, updating the CCMR tracker, and ensuring data is recorded in TEAMS. Additionally, the CCMR Teacher will provide tutorials for students, train other staff members on CCMR requirements, and educate parents and the community about these requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university
  • At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, peers, students, parents, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of subjects assigned.
  • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead campus efforts in creating a college and career going culture in the school and community.
  • Conduct campus-based student CCMR sessions and activities to inform students of college and career readiness.
  • Monitor and track student data and progress toward college readiness using the TEA Accountability manual and district CCMR tracker.
  • Establish timelines for Industry Based Certification (IBC) completion with CTE instructors.
  • Coordinate with CTE counselors regarding the timely gathering and submission of IBC data.
  • Collaborate with counselors in managing “on track” graduation data.
  • Consult with teachers, students, and parents regularly on student progress towards college readiness.
  • Coordinate with CTE instructors for planning and scheduling IBC testing dates.
  • Ensure students are familiar with advanced programs available for students, and that the applications for those programs are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Hold on-campus advising for dual credit students and monitor performance and core completion (High School).
  • Create opportunities for students to achieve the CCMR designation through enrollment in AP classes, TSIA2 testing, IBC attainment, or Dual Credit coursework (High School).
  • Collaborate with campus administrators, advanced academics and counselors on Summer Bridge implementation.
  • Develop, Track and Monitor Personalized Graduation Plan and Program of Study.
  • Work collaboratively with Investigating Careers Teachers (Middle School).
  • Collaborate with the Go Center for TSIA2/SAT/ACT/ASVAB Test-prep and Testing.
  • Administer Texas Success Initiative Assessments (TSIA) to students within the school to establish qualification for dual credit courses, replacement scores for STAAR, readiness for a state college/university or gain CCMR distinction.
  • Schedule and coordinate ASVAB testing for students interested in the military or to explore career options.
  • Analyze college assessment data, including ACT, SAT, and TSIA2, to make recommendations to students for improvement based on the student’s results.
  • Track FAFSA and TASFA completion as part of the graduation requirements for every senior on campus (High School).
  • Provide information about college testing registration, deadlines and fee waivers to eligible and interested students (High School).
  • Coordinate and chaperone college tours to expose students to college life and get information about the colleges/universities.
  • Collaborate with campus administrators, advanced academics, counselors and community members to plan orientations, coordinate instructional nights for parents and host college and career fairs.
  • Coordinate with elementary and middle schools to participate in Career Days.
  • Plan and organize vertical alignment of high school Go Center initiatives to the middle school feeder pattern.
  • Conduct family sessions and parent outreach efforts to inform families about career and college options.
  • Facilitate Work-based Learning opportunities for students.
  • Coordinate with campus parent liaison CCMR parental engagement meetings.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that prepare students to take the ACT, SAT, TSIA2, and ASVAB.
  • Create lessons and presentations that help students develop 21st Century skills that will enable them to be successful in a college/career setting.
  • Utilize instructional strategies that take into consideration student learning styles and instructional needs with high levels of student engagement.
  • Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
  • Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
  • Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
  • Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
  • Plan and supervise assignments of teacher assistant(s) and volunteer(s).
  • Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
  • Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
  • Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
  • Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
  • Be a positive role model for students, support the mission of the school district.
  • Establish and maintain open lines of communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
  • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
  • Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
  • Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
