About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time Substitute Teacher to teach in a classical, Catholic classroom at its center in Sykesville, Maryland. The academy is a national organization offering instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. Teaching certification and formal teaching experience are not required; the academy provides training, curriculum, and grading guidelines. Tutors are trained to deliver instruction and manage classrooms according to RCA standards. The role requires preparing for classes at home and teaching in a highly structured environment. Hours are Mondays and Thursdays from 9:25 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The positions are hourly, and childcare/nursery is provided. Employees must complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training before teaching. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and live the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to their state in life.

Requirements

Must have strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
Must have a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
Must be willing to prepare for classes at home.
Must pass a clear background check.
Teaching certification and formal teaching experience are not required.
