Requirements

At least 2 years of catering sales or related hotel sales experience, preferably in an upscale or luxury hospitality environment.
Experience with Delphi and a strong understanding of sales tracking, forecasting, and account management.
Ability to negotiate, influence decisions, and turn inquiries into confirmed business.
Motivated by revenue goals and take ownership of your results.
Ability to build genuine relationships and understand the value of repeat business and client loyalty.
Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously.
Communicate confidently and professionally with clients, colleagues, and hotel leadership.
Ability to stay composed under pressure and adapt quickly when event details or client needs change.
Ability to take pride in delivering quality work, meeting commitments, and following through on every detail.
Bring energy, initiative, flexibility, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
Available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required by client needs and event schedules.
Minimum 2 years of catering sales or related hotel sales experience preferred.
Luxury hotel experience preferred.
Delphi experience preferred.
Strong negotiation, sales, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
Ability to manage revenue goals, sales activities, client relationships, and event details effectively.

Responsibilities

Drive catering revenue by identifying new business opportunities, cultivating strong client relationships, and coordinating exceptional events from initial inquiry through execution.
Deliver outstanding service while achieving financial goals and ensuring every client experience reflects the standards of Hard Rock Hotel San Diego.
Proactively solicit, develop, and secure new business while growing existing accounts and building a strong pipeline of opportunities.
Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, industry partners, and community contacts to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Respond promptly to inquiries, leads, calls, and emails, with a goal of responding within 24 hours, and guide clients through booking and event planning.
Identify prospective clients, pursue new market opportunities, participate in networking events, and maintain a consistent schedule of sales activities.
Prepare accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), including event setup, audiovisual requirements, food and beverage selections, and other client specifications.
Obtain client approvals, coordinate BEO distribution, maintain organized files, and ensure event information is communicated accurately and on time.
Maintain accurate sales information and revenue forecasts in Delphi, confirm billing instructions and deposit schedules, and follow through on outstanding payments.
Work closely with Banquets, Culinary, and other hotel teams to ensure client expectations are understood and event details are executed successfully.
Greet groups upon arrival, remain visible throughout assigned events, and proactively address concerns to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Contact clients after events to thank them for their business, gather feedback, address concerns, and identify future opportunities.
Assist with reporting, sales plans, account reviews, capture rate reporting, and other initiatives that support departmental revenue goals.
Participate in property events, site inspections, sales initiatives, and training while maintaining a professional presence and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
