About The Position

The Catering Sales Manager drives catering and event revenue for The Knox by finding, booking and nurturing social, wedding, corporate and local business opportunities. Reporting to the Director of Catering Sales, you will own the client relationship from first inquiry through contract and a seamless handoff to the event team, while playing a key role as a founding team member in building the property’s business and establishing The Knox as a premier destination for events in Dallas. This is a hands-on, highly visible role for a polished seller who knows Dallas, loves the art of the event, and can translate Auberge's intimate, personalized style into proposals clients can't wait to sign.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of catering or event sales experience in a luxury hotel, resort, private club or high-end venue required
  • A proven record of meeting or exceeding catering revenue goals required
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage, banquet operations and event logistics required
  • Experience with weddings, social events and corporate meetings required
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in a polished and professional manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred
  • An established network in the Dallas social, wedding and corporate markets preferred
  • Pre-opening or new-venue launch experience preferred
  • Experience with Forbes or LQA luxury service standards strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Respond to every inquiry — phone, email, web and internal referral — promptly and convert qualified leads into signed contracts.
  • Proactively develop new social, wedding, corporate and local business opportunities through outbound calls, networking, site tours and industry events.
  • Build relationships with Dallas planners, country clubs, corporate assistants, nonprofits and the Knox Street and Highland Park communities.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual catering revenue goals; support forecasting and the annual catering sales plan.
  • Lead site inspections and hard hat tours that showcase The Knox's venues, cuisine and design.
  • Write tailored proposals and contracts, and negotiate pricing, food and beverage minimums and terms within hotel guidelines.
  • Guide clients through menu selection, floor plans, timelines and vendor coordination; attend tastings with the culinary team.
  • Prepare accurate event details and ensure BEOs and event resumes are complete and updated for handoff to Event Management and Banquets.
  • Present upcoming events at weekly BEO meetings and collaborate with Culinary, Banquets, Beverage and Engineering.
  • Build the pre-opening pipeline and pace before the hotel opens, including off-site sales calls and hard hat tours.
