About The Position

Chicago Marriott Northwest is seeking a Banquet Sales Manager to drive sales for group events, parties, and catering functions. This role is responsible for all sales efforts and ensuring client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years banquet and relevant experience.
  • Marriott Experience required.
  • Undergraduate degree required, ideally in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or Sales.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with responsibility for large volume events.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with an ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as demonstrated professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Ability to exercise sound business judgment generating effective solutions quickly and/or raising issues to management as necessary.
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Team player with an exceptional customer service attitude.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and executes group sales strategies, including making sales calls and in-person visits to businesses and fundraising organizations to network and drive revenue.
  • Manages accounting details, including the development of invoices and collection of payments.
  • Develops an understanding of target customers and their individual needs.
  • Reserves, coordinates, and details corporate and social events.
  • Produces weekly group sales reports, sales strategies, and revenue updates.
  • Coordinates food and beverage service, linens, and all other rentals for each event.
  • Manages guest surveys and overall guest satisfaction.
  • Serves as the point of contact for each group or event to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Works closely with the kitchen and banquet staff to ensure flawless execution.
