About The Position

The Catering Manager is a salaried position within the Catering Department, with direct responsibility for the operations at the Buehler’s Medina River Styx Location. This role involves providing day-to-day leadership to the Store’s Catering Team and acting as a key member of the larger Food Service Leadership team. The manager is accountable for the profitability of the Catering Department, as well as establishing, developing, training, and maintaining exceptional customer service standards for all Catering employees. The Catering Manager will work cooperatively with the Catering Director, Food Service Manager, and the larger Food Service Team to develop and deliver a variety of offerings that impress customers.

Requirements

Prior 2-5 years’ catering experience, preferably in managing the operation as a lead or assistant manager.
Must be available to work 45+ hours per week, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

Organizing custom orders and full-service events through effective communications, record keeping, checklists, and follow-through.
Aligning staffing with an emphasis on recruitment and retention to meet Catering’s operational needs while making the best use of Catering labor.
Working with local rental companies, entertainment services, photographers, and event venues.
Planning ahead for seasonal changes, holidays, special events, and promotions, with particular emphasis on organization and making the most of each opportunity.
Proactively defining and resolving both employee and customer issues; communicating well with Store associates, customers, subordinates, and others.
Performing related duties as required or assigned.
