About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and motivated Residential Program Manager to lead and oversee residential services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This leadership role is responsible for the daily operation of multiple residential sites, staff supervision, implementation of Individualized Support Plans (ISPs), and ensuring the overall health, safety, and well-being of clients. The Residential Program Manager serves as a mentor and role model to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and Lead DSPs through hands-on leadership, coaching, and collaboration. The ideal candidate is committed to person-centered care, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and empowering individuals to achieve independence and meaningful outcomes. The Program Manager will report directly to their Director of Residential and work closely with the DSP Team. The Program Manager is expected to ensure a schedule that provides 24-hour support to clients, their families and program staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the IDD field.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • At least 1 year of overnight care experience.
  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to take direction.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Computer proficiency and experience using EHR systems.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain: CPR/First Aid Certification, CPI Certification, Level 1 Medication Aide (L1MA), HIPAA Training, Abuse & Neglect Training, Bloodborne Pathogens Training, Other required agency certifications and trainings.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field.
  • At least 1 year supervisory experience and 3 years of supervisory experience related to the IDD field in overnight care.
  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or in a customer service field.
  • Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to consistently work in a professional, cooperative manner with all Agency clients and personnel.
  • Good written and oral communication skills and computer proficiency.
  • Experience managing multiple residential programs or sites.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and support Lead DSPs and DSP staff across multiple residential sites.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and direct support during staffing shortages or emergencies.
  • Conduct staff training, performance evaluations, scheduling oversight, and corrective action as needed.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and a positive work culture.
  • Ensure the successful implementation and monitoring of Individualized Support Plans (ISPs).
  • Participate in annual ISP meetings and assist in establishing meaningful goals and outcomes for clients.
  • Maintain a strong focus on client health, safety, rights, dignity, and overall quality of life.
  • Support individuals with daily living activities, personal hygiene, community inclusion, and self-advocacy.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time, including: Service documentation, Medication administration records, Incident reports, Monthly reports, Safety drill documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, agency policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems effectively and accurately.
  • Oversee daily operations for assigned residential sites and ensure proper staffing coverage.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with guardians, families, external providers, and internal leadership.
  • Review timecards and documentation to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with community outreach activities and program engagement opportunities.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and participate in an on-call rotation.
