About The Position

The Catering Food Service Worker supports excellent customer service and the execution of catering events. Duties include preparing banquet rooms, transporting and setting up equipment and food, serving guests, cleaning event areas, and returning equipment to designated storage. The role also maintains catering supplies and storage areas, follows safety procedures, understands the proper use and storage of chemicals, and reports injuries promptly. There is no direct supervisory responsibility.

Requirements

Effectively communicate and understand directions.
Understand safety rules, Bridgeman Hospitality Alcohol Regulations, and operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Willingness to perform a variety of assigned tasks.
Maintain a well-groomed appearance and wear professional attire.
Ability to deal with students and guests courteously and efficiently.

Nice To Haves

One year of banquet or wait staff experience.
Ability to carry at least four meals on a tray at a time.
Bartending experience.
TIPS certification.

Responsibilities

Prepare banquet rooms and set tables for functions.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a neat, professional appearance.
Serve meals and beverages according to catering protocol.
Wipe and polish silverware.
Load and unload event equipment into catering vehicles while following truck safety procedures and applicable DOT regulations.
Clean function areas after events and perform opening and closing side work as needed.
Maintain orderly storage rooms and supplies, and maintain catering equipment and supplies.
Understand the proper use and storage of chemicals and be familiar with the location’s MSDS book and its contents.
Report all injuries immediately to a manager or supervisor.
Assist in other areas as needed and complete tasks requested by a supervisor or management team member.
Follow weekly and monthly cleaning schedules posted by management.
