About The Position

The Catering Coordinator promotes the growth of Stew Leonard’s catering services by connecting with current and prospective customers. The coordinator provides prompt, courteous knowledge and guidance about food selections to help bring customers’ event plans to life. The role includes customer service in person and by phone, documenting orders, coordinating order details with sales departments, maintaining menus and pricing, and supporting catering preparation and delivery when needed.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of experience with product knowledge.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Good computer skills, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and an in-house catering program.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to multitask.
Excellent work ethic, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
Good listening skills, honesty, quick thinking, problem-solving ability, and flexibility.

Responsibilities

Maintain thorough knowledge of Stew Leonard’s catering menu, including holiday menus.
Speak with customers in the store and by phone, and accurately document their order requirements.
Guide customers on food and quantity selections based on event size and details.
Return customer phone calls when necessary.
Circulate order details so each sales department is prepared to execute order requirements.
Ensure menus are up to date and available in the store.
Solicit services with local businesses.
Ensure pricing is accurate.
Assist the chef and culinary staff with order preparation as needed.
Deliver catering orders when necessary.
Follow health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
