About The Position

The Comforted Kitty is seeking reliable, responsible cat lovers to provide in-home cat-sitting visits to clients in the San Diego County area while they are away. This flexible, part-time independent contractor position lets sitters set their availability and service area, and the company matches them with clients. Sitters care for cats, help pet parents travel with peace of mind, and build trust with repeat clients.

Service options include drop-in visits of 30, 45, or 60 minutes, one to three times daily; extended daytime visits of 2–8 hours; overnight stays of 10 hours; and 24-hour live-in care with overnight care. Visits may also involve basic home tasks requested by clients. Weekend, holiday, morning, afternoon, and evening availability is especially valuable.

Requirements

• Experience caring for cats, especially in a pet-sitting capacity.
• Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Comfort working independently in clients’ homes.
• A smartphone with reliable internet access and a camera.

Nice To Haves

• Medication experience, including oral medication, injections, or fluids.
• Availability on holidays and weekends.
• Availability during mornings, afternoons, and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Feed cats and refresh their water.
• Clean litter boxes.
• Provide playtime, affection, or companionship according to each cat’s personality.
• Send visit updates and photos through the company app.
• Follow each client’s detailed care instructions.
• Bring in mail or packages.
• Adjust lights or blinds and handle trash or recycling when requested.
• Administer medication when it is within the sitter’s experience and comfort level.
