About The Position

The Comforted Kitty is seeking reliable, responsible cat lovers to provide in-home cat-sitting visits for clients in the Hayward, California area. This is a flexible, part-time independent contractor position. Sitters set their availability and service area, and the company matches them with clients. The role involves caring for cats and helping their owners travel with peace of mind while building trust with repeat clients.

Service options include drop-in visits lasting 30, 45, or 60 minutes, one to three times daily; extended daytime visits of 2–8 hours; overnight stays of 10 hours; and 24-hour live-in care with overnight care. Visits often take place while clients are traveling, so availability on weekends, holidays, and at various times of day is especially valuable.

Requirements

• Experience with cat care, especially in a pet-sitting capacity.
• Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Comfort working independently in clients’ homes.
• A smartphone with reliable internet access and a camera.

Nice To Haves

• Medication experience, including oral medication, injections, or fluids.
• Availability on holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Feed cats and refresh their water.
• Clean litter boxes.
• Provide playtime, affection, or companionship according to each cat’s personality.
• Send visit updates and photos through the company app.
• Follow each client’s detailed care instructions.
• Bring in mail or packages when requested.
• Adjust lights or blinds and handle trash or recycling when requested.
• Administer medication when it is within the sitter’s experience and comfort level.
