About The Position
The Comforted Kitty is seeking reliable, responsible cat lovers to provide in-home cat-sitting visits while clients are away. This flexible, part-time independent contractor position lets sitters set their availability and service area, with the company matching them to clients. The role involves caring for cats and helping pet parents travel with peace of mind while building trust with repeat clients. Visits may include drop-ins lasting 30, 45, or 60 minutes, extended daytime visits of 2–8 hours, overnight stays of 10 hours, or 24-hour live-in care. Most visits occur while clients are traveling, so weekend, holiday, morning, afternoon, and evening availability is especially valuable.
Requirements
- Experience caring for cats, especially in a pet-sitting capacity.
- Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Comfort working independently in clients’ homes.
- A smartphone with reliable internet access and a camera.
- Availability for holidays and weekends.
Nice To Haves
- Experience administering medication, including oral medication, injections, or fluids.
Responsibilities
- Feed cats and refresh their water.
- Clean litter boxes.
- Provide playtime, affection, or companionship according to each cat’s personality.
- Send visit updates and photos through the company app.
- Follow each client’s detailed care instructions.
- Bring in mail or packages when requested.
- Adjust lights, blinds, or trash and recycling when requested.
- Administer medication when it is within the sitter’s experience and comfort level.
