About The Position

The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) is seeking qualified candidates for casual Bus Driver positions for the 2026-2027 school year across all SRCE locations. The SRCE is part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, established to support student learning, achievement, well-being, and overall success. With approximately 1,166 employees, the SRCE operates 20 schools and 375 pre-primary programs across the counties of Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, and Richmond in northeastern Nova Scotia. This position is classified under CUPE Local 955.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 19 years of age
• Valid Nova Scotia Driver's License
• Satisfactory Driver's Abstract
• Current certification in CPR and First Aid or willingness to obtain
• Ability to manage the behavior of students while on the bus
• Good communication skills
• Ability to comply with provincial regulations and SRCE policies
• Provide at least three (3) work-related references; one must be your most recent supervisor.
• Provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check-Vulnerable Sector and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school bus to transport students safely and efficiently.
• Manage student behavior while on the bus.
