About The Position

As a Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you are the face of the company. You process customer orders quickly, accurately, and efficiently while providing prompt, friendly service and ensuring customer satisfaction. You handle cash, credit and debit payments, and change, and assist customers by providing information and resolving complaints. The role also includes following front-end procedures, stocking shelves, facing and dusting as needed, maintaining knowledge of weekly ad items, directing customers to products, and staying informed about store events and seminars. You communicate with the front-end manager and Head Cashier, keep checkout areas clean and orderly, and perform other related duties as assigned. The role is in a fast-paced, friendly neighborhood grocery store setting. Cashiers must be able to work a flexible schedule that may change with business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Have 1–2 years of recent cashiering experience.
Show outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact with customers.
Be able to operate front-end equipment, including a register, calculator, and scanner.
Be dependable and reliable, and able to work a flexible schedule that changes with business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and constructive criticism and participate in a team environment.
Be able to perform repetitious activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
Be able to lift and carry products horizontally and vertically, weighing up to 30 lbs., from 36 inches to 24 inches, for a distance of up to 3 feet, for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
Use both hands to move grocery carts horizontally, requiring a force of up to 35 lbs., for a distance of up to 4 feet, for up to 50 hours.
Have strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers, cash handling, and mathematical skills.
Be able to read, write, and count.
