About The Position

As a Cashier (Customer Service Associate), you are the first and final interaction for Floor & Decor’s customers. Cashiers provide excellent customer service by greeting and checking out customers, handling product returns, performing basic cash office functions, and helping ensure every customer has an exceptional experience. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

The role involves operating the point-of-sale system, processing refunds and exchanges, opening and closing registers, following cash, check, and credit card acceptance procedures, answering the telephone, and stocking, tagging, and displaying merchandise. Cashiers may travel to other stores to provide support. The work environment may occasionally include a warehouse and moving vehicles, with noise typically quiet to moderate.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Knowledge of basic math skills.
• Customer service experience.
• Potential travel to other stores for support.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer in a helpful and courteous manner.
• Connect with customers, ask about their projects, recommend products, and generate excitement about purchases.
• Provide exceptional customer service and exceed customer expectations.
• Follow the company’s safety processes and act consistently with its core values.
• Process customer transactions at checkout using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Process customer refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines.
• Open and close registers.
• Follow established cash, check, and credit card acceptance procedures.
• Answer the telephone according to company guidelines.
• Stock, tag, and display merchandise as required.
• Create price tags and merchandise signs.
• Perform basic cash office functions.
