About The Position

The Cashier welcomes customers, enters food orders into the POS system, and handles cash and credit transactions. The role includes counting the cash drawer at the start and end of each shift, providing correct change, restocking and cleaning beverage fridges and service areas, and keeping the dining room and cashier station clean. The Cashier also promotes additional products, follows food safety and health and safety guidelines, assists with customer complaints, and provides exceptional customer service. Other duties may be assigned by the Manager on Duty.

Requirements

Work experience as a retail cashier or in a similar sales role.
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Good math skills.
Basic PC knowledge.
Ability to handle cash and credit transactions.
Ability to stand for long periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to uphold the company’s mission, vision, and values.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

Greet customers with “Bienvenido’s” and a smile.
Enter food orders using the cash register POS system.
Handle cash and credit transactions.
Count money in the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each work shift; accept cash and return the correct change.
Keep the salsa bar, drink cup lids, and napkins well stocked before and after shifts.
Clean the dining room and cashier station.
Keep beverage fridges stocked and clean.
Upsell sides, drinks, aguas frescas, and other products.
Maintain restaurant cleanliness and follow food safety and health and safety guidelines.
Resolve customer complaints, guide customers, and provide relevant information.
Serve guests with pride and provide exceptional customer service.
Complete other duties as assigned by the Manager on Duty.
