Full Time - Cashier - Closing
About The Position
As a Lowe’s cashier, you help customers leave the store with a quick, friendly, and professional checkout experience. You answer questions, assist with payments and exchanges, and help customers get the best value for their money. Most of your time is spent at the register, with other duties as needed, such as assisting other departments, stocking shelves, or moving carts. The role requires working in a fast-paced environment and maintaining a clean, safe workstation. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Working conditions can include indoor and outdoor weather, changing climates, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Associates must follow lifting guidelines, use team lifts when needed, and operate powered equipment only with appropriate training or assistance.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
- Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- Ability to minimally lift 10 pounds unassisted or over 15 pounds with or without accommodation.
- Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by state law.
- Follow lifting guidelines limiting single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
