About The Position

As a Lowe’s cashier, you ensure customers have a positive experience at checkout by providing quick, friendly service and helping them get the best value. Most of your time is spent at the register, but you may also answer questions, assist with payments and exchanges, help other departments, stock shelves, or move carts as needed. This role is suited to someone who enjoys helping customers and solving problems in a fast-paced environment.

The position may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores. Working conditions vary by location and may include indoor and outdoor weather, extreme temperatures, wet or humid conditions, wind or drafts, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Associates must follow lifting guidelines, use team lifts when needed, and use powered equipment only with proper training or assistance.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
• Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• Ability to minimally lift 10 pounds unassisted or over 15 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience.
• Proactively assist customers in the self-checkout area.
• Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently.
• Manage a cash register, payments, and exchanges.

• Help maintain a clean, safe workstation.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• As needed, assist other departments, stock shelves, or move carts.
