Full Time - Cashier - Day
About The Position
As a Lowe’s cashier, you help ensure every customer has a positive checkout experience. You provide quick, friendly, and professional service, assist customers with payments and exchanges, and help them get the best value for their money. Most of your time is spent at the register, but you may also help other departments, stock shelves, or move carts as needed. The role operates in a fast-paced retail environment and may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores. Working conditions can vary by location and may include indoor and outdoor weather exposure, changing temperatures and moisture, noise, and moving equipment or objects.
Requirements
- Read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- Ability to minimally lift 10 pounds unassisted or over 15 pounds with or without accommodation.
- Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by law in the state.
- Follow lifting guidelines, which limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Responsibilities
- Deliver a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience.
- Proactively assist customers in the self-checkout area.
- Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently.
- Manage a cash register, payments, and exchanges.

- Help maintain a clean, safe workstation.
- Help other departments, stock shelves, or move carts as needed.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Travel occasionally to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores, if needed.
