Full Time - Cashier - Day
About The Position
As a Lowe’s cashier, you help customers leave the store with a positive experience by providing quick, friendly checkout service and helping them get the best value for their money. Most of your time is spent at the register, assisting with payments and exchanges and answering customer questions. You may also help other departments, stock shelves, or move carts as needed. The role involves working in a fast-paced retail environment and maintaining a clean, safe workstation. Travel is not regularly required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Work conditions vary by location and can include indoor and outdoor weather, extreme temperatures, wet or humid conditions, wind or drafts, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Lifting methods vary by role, weight, and volume; associates must follow guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds, with minimal team lifts beginning at 75 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment should be used as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- Ability to minimally lift 10 pounds unassisted or over 15 pounds with or without accommodation.
- Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by law in the state.
