About The Position
At Wegmans, cashiers help ensure customers end their shopping trips with a positive experience. They provide proactive customer service in traditional checkout and self-checkout lanes, helping create lasting impressions and encourage customer loyalty.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
Responsibilities
- Engage customers in friendly conversation while making eye contact and smiling; proactively offer assistance and thank customers for shopping at Wegmans.
- Efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments when working at a register.
- Bag items properly so products arrive in the condition they left the store.
- Manage traffic flow in the self-checkout area and direct customers to available lanes.
- Ensure self-checkout lanes are in good working order and help customers troubleshoot system issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work space.
