About The Position
The Cashier serves as a team member responsible for point-of-sale transactions and works closely with store personnel to provide high-quality customer service. The position is based at the GoodFellow Base Supply Center at Goodfellow AFB in Texas and reports to the BSC Assistant Manager/Manager. It is classified as non-exempt, with no travel required. The role includes assisting customers, processing sales and payments, researching and handling customer orders, maintaining store cleanliness, and helping stock shelves. The Cashier also supports store management in maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy work environment and performs other duties as assigned. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience as a cashier.
- Customer service skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to stock shelves.
- Ability to read credit card numbers, using a magnifier or CCTV if needed.
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
- Ability to visually locate and scan bar codes.
- Regular and good attendance.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work as a team player.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to move around the floor without assistance.

Responsibilities
- Greet, direct, and assist customers.
- Operate the Counterpoint point-of-sale system.
- Process transactions in the point-of-sale system.
- Receive and process customer payments, including credit card and customer account sales.
- Process customer orders, backorders, and drop shipments, and research customer orders.
- Assist customers with unique and hard-to-find items.
- Keep the store clean, including sweeping and cleaning the sales counter and surrounding area as needed.
- Assist with stocking shelves and items.
- Complete special projects as needed.
- Work with store management to create a safe, clean, and healthy work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
