About The Position

The Seasonal Daytime Cashier is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The role follows operational, merchandise, loss-prevention, labor, and safety standards, and may involve cross-training in multiple store areas to support business needs.

The cashier accurately processes purchases and returns, counts change, promotes credit and loyalty programs, and supports merchandising, merchandise preparation, store recovery, cleanliness, and shrink-reduction efforts. The associate contributes to a positive store culture, accepts and provides feedback, and performs other duties as assigned. The position is at the TJ Maxx store at 5001 N Bid Hollow, Peoria, Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and following established customer experience practices.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to established procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Follow merchandising philosophy, procedures, and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards, and help maintain the cleanliness of the entire store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work in multiple store areas if cross-trained and needed to support the business.
