About The Position

At Fleet Farm, providing the best customer service is a priority. Cashiers provide customers with a friendly and efficient checkout experience by processing transactions and following company policies and procedures to reduce shrink. The role includes operating checkout equipment, handling multiple forms of payment, promoting company programs and initiatives, and maintaining brand standards in the front-end area and on the sales floor.

Cashiers are expected to be outgoing and engaging, enjoy working with people, and create a pleasant interaction throughout each transaction. The position requires a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of basic cash-handling procedures, including simple math.
• Friendly, self-motivated, dependable, outgoing, and engaging approach to customer service.
• Enjoy working with people.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with a quick and efficient checkout experience.
• Operate the cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, and bag merchandise.
• Greet customers warmly and create a pleasant interaction throughout the transaction.
• Process and handle cash, checks, gift cards, and credit and debit card transactions.
• Offer the Extended Protection Policy for qualifying items.
• Maintain brand standards in the front-end area and on the sales floor.
• Promote Fleet Farm’s customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives.
• Follow policies and procedures to reduce shrink.
