About The Position

The Cashier provides fast and friendly checkout services to customers, assists with store questions, processes products and payments, and maintains a clean and orderly checkout area. The role also includes restocking register supplies, returning merchandise, and bagging groceries or assisting the Courtesy Clerk.

Requirements

• Good customer service skills.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math problems, including counting, addition, and subtraction.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• Ability to stand, reach, twist, bend, stoop, squat, and kneel.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast and friendly checkout services for customers.
• Assist customers with questions about the store.
• Scan and/or weigh products during checkout.
• Handle cash and other forms of payment properly.
• Maintain a neat and clean work area.
• Restock register supplies.
• Perform “go-backs” of returned or abandoned merchandise.
• Bag groceries when necessary or assist the Courtesy Clerk in doing so.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
