Full Time - Cashier - Day
About The Position
As a Lowe's cashier, you help ensure customers leave the store satisfied by providing a quick, friendly, and professional checkout experience. You answer questions, assist with payments and exchanges, and help customers get the best value for their money. Most of your time is spent at the register, though you may also help other departments, stock shelves, or move carts as needed. The position is suited to someone who enjoys helping customers and solving problems in a fast-paced environment. The role may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores. Working conditions vary by location and can include indoor and outdoor settings, changing or extreme weather, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Lifting procedures depend on the role, weight, and volume; single lifts are limited to 75 pounds, with team lifts used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment should be used when required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- Ability to minimally lift 10 pounds unassisted or over 15 pounds with or without accommodation.
- Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by law in the state.
- Follow lifting guidelines, including the 75-pound single-lift limit, and use powered equipment only with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
