About The Position

The Cashier provides friendly, genuine hospitality to guests while taking orders, processing payments, and supporting dining room service. The role includes keeping the store inviting, clean, stocked, and organized, and responding to customer requests and complaints. Cashiers are cross-trained in Front of the House stations and learn basic skills to support the Back of the House team, which may provide opportunities to work additional shifts.

The position is advertised as part-time. A flexible schedule may be needed based on restaurant needs. The job requires standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, and the ability to reach, bend, and stoop and to lift up to 40 pounds frequently, with the ability to lift up to 55 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a related food service cashier position is preferred.
• A Food Handler’s Card or Certification may be required according to local or state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers politely and in a friendly manner.
• Take customer orders and enter them into the restaurant POS system.
• Provide information about menu items, ingredients, and prices.
• Process cash and credit card payments and accurately tender change.
• Relay customer orders to the kitchen.
• Control, organize, monitor, and maintain appropriate cash drawer levels.
• Handle customer requests and complaints.
• Maintain cleanliness and stocking levels in dining areas.
• Keep the service area stocked, clean, and organized.
• Assist with food portioning and preparation tasks.
• Follow established standards for personal safety, food safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, appearance, and uniform.
