About The Position

As a Lowe's cashier, you help customers leave the store with a positive experience by providing quick, friendly checkout and helping them get the best value. Most of the work is at the register, but duties may also include answering customer questions, assisting with payments and exchanges, helping other departments, stocking shelves, or moving carts. The role is suited to someone who enjoys helping customers and solving problems in a fast-paced environment. The job may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores. Working conditions may include indoor and outdoor weather, extreme temperatures, wet or humid conditions, wind or drafts, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Associates must follow lifting guidelines, including a 75-pound limit for single lifts; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment should be used as required with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Requirements

• Read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
• Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• Ability to lift at least 10 pounds unassisted or over 15 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience.
• Proactively assist customers in the self-checkout area.
