About The Position

The Cashier provides friendly, genuine hospitality to guests at Habit Burger & Grill. The role includes taking orders, processing payments, assisting guests, and helping keep the dining room and service area inviting, clean, stocked, and organized. Cashiers are cross-trained in Front of the House stations and learn basic skills to support the BOH team; this may allow them to work more shifts.

The position requires excellent customer service, communication, teamwork, and money-handling skills, along with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work a flexible schedule based on restaurant needs. Related food-service cashier experience is preferred, and a Food Handler’s Card or Certification may be required by local or state regulations.

• One year of experience in a related food-service cashier position is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers politely and in a friendly manner.
• Take customer orders and enter them into the restaurant POS system.
• Provide information about menu items, ingredients, and prices.
• Process cash and credit card payments and accurately provide change.
• Relay customer orders to the kitchen.
• Control, organize, monitor, and maintain appropriate cash-drawer levels.
• Handle customer requests and complaints.
• Maintain cleanliness and stocking levels in dining areas.
• Keep the service area stocked, clean, and organized.
• Assist with food portioning and preparation tasks.
• Follow established personal safety, food safety, sanitation, hygiene, appearance, and uniform standards.
• Cross-train in Front of the House stations and learn basic skills to support the BOH team.
