About The Position

The Cashier interacts with customers as they enter and leave the retail store, with the primary function of providing excellent customer service. The role includes greeting customers, answering questions and telephone calls, processing transactions, handling cash and returns, and pricing and stocking merchandise as requested by store management. Hours vary, with occasional night or weekend coverage assistance potentially needed. The position has no direct supervisory authority and reports to the Store Manager.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Frequent bending and twisting.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers entering the retail store and assist with customer service questions.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and handle them appropriately.
• Process customer transactions using the KCX cash register system.
• Handle cash accurately.
• Price store merchandise as requested by store management.
• Stock merchandise on shelves as requested by store management.
• Handle customer returns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
