About The Position

The Cashier provides friendly, efficient, and accurate service to customers while processing transactions, maintaining the checkout area, and supporting store operations. The position is entry-level, works under close supervision, and focuses on learning point-of-sale systems, basic procedures, and customer service. Cash-handling experience is preferred but not required. A Texas Alcohol Food Beverage Commission (TABC) certification is required.

The role may also involve other store tasks as assigned, such as stocking shelves or cleaning. Management may assign additional tasks as necessary to support store operations, and employees will receive proper training and protective equipment for assigned tasks requiring special handling.

Requirements

• Texas Alcohol Food Beverage Commission (TABC) certification is required.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to operate a cash register and other point-of-sale equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Cash-handling experience preferred but not required.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide exceptional customer service.
• Scan and process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
• Handle cash, credit and debit card transactions, and other forms of payment.
• Issue receipts and maintain accurate records.
• Bag or package customer purchases as needed.
• Answer customer inquiries and assist with product selection.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
• Stock and replenish supplies at the checkout counter.
• Follow company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and security.
• Assist with other store tasks as assigned, including stocking shelves or cleaning.
• Resolve customer complaints and escalate issues to management when necessary.
• Promote store promotions and loyalty programs.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned to support store operations.
