Convenience Store Cashier/Stocker
About The Position
The Cashier/Stocker works at the Ba’ja Gas Station and Convenience Store and reports to the Ba’ja Gas Manager. This full-time position serves customers, processes cash and credit payments, operates the cash register accurately, and handles cash responsibly. It also involves stocking and cleaning the store and filling propane tanks. The role requires providing exceptional service to internal and external guests according to the We-Ko-Pa Way: Smile and Greet, Name and Meet, Thank You and Goodbye. The employee must be willing to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays, and perform other duties as assigned or required. Applicants must be at least 21, have a current Arizona driver’s license, pass a basic math test and pre-employment drug test, and meet the stated lifting and pushing/pulling requirements. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; at least six months of cash-handling experience and basic arithmetic knowledge are required. Preference is given to qualified applicants who are members of federally recognized Indian tribes; applicants seeking this preference must submit a Certificate of Indian Blood with their application.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of cash-handling experience.
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic.
- Pass a basic math test.
- Current Arizona driver’s license.
- Pass a pre-employment drug test.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and push or pull 100 pounds.
- Willingness to work varied shifts, holidays, and/or weekends.

- Qualified members of federally recognized Indian tribes receive preference; a Certificate of Indian Blood must be submitted with the application to be considered for Indian Preference.
Responsibilities

- Serve customers and accept cash or credit payment for purchased goods.
- Operate the cash register efficiently and accurately.
- Receive money and give customers accurate change; keep cash variances to an absolute minimum.
- Maintain knowledge of cash reporting techniques.
- Stock and clean the store.
- Fill propane tanks.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
