About The Position

The Cashier/Stocker provides customer service while keeping the store stocked, organized, clean, and welcoming. The role includes operating the cash register, helping customers with purchases, verifying IDs for alcohol sales, and maintaining merchandise and store areas. Employees are expected to prioritize customer needs, follow company policies and management directions, report operational or sales discrepancies, and comply with applicable regulations. The position requires lifting 20–50 pounds and standing for an eight-hour shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 21 years of age to work as a cashier.
At least 18 years of age to work as a stocker.
Able to obtain a TAM and Health Card.
Able to obtain a Non-Gaming Card in some locations.
Pass a drug screen and background check.
Able to lift 20–50 pounds.
Able to stand for an eight-hour shift.

Responsibilities

Follow the company’s Customer Relations Philosophy and prioritize customers’ needs.
Follow management directions and company policies and procedures.
Inform store management of sales, cash, or operational discrepancies.
Prepare a shift-change report and minimize cashier errors.
Accurately record markups, markdowns, store use of merchandise, voids, and write-offs of bad merchandise.
Advise management of situations, policy violations, or maintenance problems that adversely affect store performance.
Keep coolers and merchandise shelves fully stocked and fronted.
Clean and maintain equipment, floors, and restrooms; keep the register area clean and displays unobstructed, operable, and pointed toward customers.
Comply with city, county, state, and federal regulations.
Use up-selling techniques and recommend products that complement customer purchases.
Greet and serve customers pleasantly before and after checkout.
Handle register operations, assist with purchases, and verify IDs for alcohol sales.
