About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio is hiring a part-time, hourly Cashier/Sales Floor Associate in Canton, Ohio. The role combines customer service and point-of-sale transactions with stocking, merchandising, store cleaning, and support for the retail team. The associate is expected to contribute to customer and donor satisfaction, follow safety policies, and embody the organization’s DGR MODE Guiding Principles. Pay is $13.40 per hour. A background check is required.

Requirements

• Strength in mathematics.
• Strong people and customer service skills.
• Able to identify shades and tones of color and visually inspect clothing.
• Background check required.

Nice To Haves

• Computer experience preferred.
• Prior retail experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure 100% donor and customer satisfaction.
• Itemize purchases using the point-of-sale (POS) system, handle cash and make change, and implement agency programs such as Round Up and Loyalty.
• Use POS software to enter starting and ending cash amounts and maintain accurate customer records.
• Handle customer disputes, make exchanges according to policy, and assist customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Assist with stock rotation and merchandise racks, shelves, and other displays in a presentable manner.
• Assist store team leadership with training new personnel.
• Help maintain a clean store by cleaning shelves, dusting, vacuuming floors, and cleaning windows and mirrors.
• Assist with floor running, apparel rotation, and cleaning dressing rooms as needed.
• Follow agency safety policies and guidelines.
• Work with supervisors and team members to address identified safety concerns.
• Embody DGR MODE Guiding Principles.
• End every transaction with “You changed a life today, Thank you!”
• Perform other duties as assigned.
